Our design studio/// workshop & design store, Urbs Objects + Spaces is located in the Humbolt Park neighborhood in Chicago. It is our place to freely explore, make and sell objects for home that we design and craft in house as well as select independent brands that align with our mission.

///Our design objects are observations, conversations, collectibles >> functional and sometimes not that spark intrigue or an emotional connection.///

The city is our muse: We are constantly intrigued by cities as places where we live. We think about and contemplate these spaces in an ongoing conversation. To us the city is this ever changing thing that has so many people and ideas that are constantly overlapping, sometimes for just a short moment in time.

Alyson Beaton- Co-founder is an interdisciplinary designer trained in architecture who began developing collections in 2003 when finishing graduate school in visual communication at SAIC. All of the products and spaces she has developed stem from a connection to cities as places for people. Her products have been sold nationally and internationally through notable shops and collaborations.

Matthew Beaton- Co-founder is an architect who has been obsessed with cities since his birth in Toronto. He has dedicated his life to public housing and projects that are housing related. He thrives on walkability and development of cities as places for people.
